Quote 1 :
Funny quote from Sharpay #flashback “Daddy, the reason I buy such expensive shoes is to take monumental steps.”
Quote 2 :
The first quote is the best, but the whole list is damn worth reading. Most of us write very sloppily. The few times I've really honed a piece of writing, I've loved the process and the result. Regarding #4, I loved a comment that Michael Lewis made in a recent interview with Terry Gross: "You never know what book you've written until you know what book people read," remarking on people who went to work on Wall Street after reading Liar's Poker.
Quote 3 :
Quotes from Android partners
“We welcome today’s news, which demonstrates Google’s deep commitment to defending Android, its partners, and the ecosystem.”
– J.K. Shin
President, Samsung, Mobile Communications Division
“I welcome Google‘s commitment to defending Android and its partners.”
– Bert Nordberg
President & CEO, Sony Ericsson
“We welcome the news of today‘s acquisition, which demonstrates that Google is deeply committed to defending Android, its partners, and the entire ecosystem.”
– Peter Chou
CEO, HTC Corp.
“We welcome Google‘s commitment to defending Android and its partners.”
– Jong-Seok Park, Ph.D
President & CEO, LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company
Quote 4 :
Great quote from GK Chesterton:
“The argument of the expert, that the man who is trained should be the man who is trusted, would be absolutely unanswerable if it were really true that the man who studied a thing and practiced it every day went on seeing more and more of its significance. But he does not. He goes on seeing less and less of its significance.”
This is so true in my experience. I've always felt that some of my success has been made possible by my ignorance. When I first came to publishing, I knew nothing about it, and so I reinvented many things that others took for granted. Ditto with my ability to notice big patterns in technology: they came from a certain distance. And there is example after example (politics comes to mind) where subject matter expertise is difficult to distinguish from deep ruts.
That being said, there are many other cases where experts are indeed those to be trusted. Non-experts can often see the big picture; but experts help us to get the details right. We need both fresh eyes and expertise.

Motivational Quotes and Pictures
Motivation 1.
I was inspired to create this poster after shooting yesterday's game on the sidelines
I call it, "Courage." I hope it inspires you to greatness!
Motivation 2. Sometimes, all you need is a little push. I've created another in my series of demotivational poster series to push you to do the things you've always dreamed of, but just you just needed that little extra push. ;-)
Motivational 3
Alone is not a bad word.
I see a hundred motivational pictures posted from people every day about loving themselves, being happy, loving life but there seems to be an undercurrent of Hey! Look at me being all happy here! and you know they really aren't. There is a lot of time and energy spent on searching for another. That special someone who will complete you. Blarg. Hurl. Gag me with a rollercoaster, Becki. The only person that completes you is you. Imagine if we spent all of that time and energy on making ourselves happy first. . There is something really wondrous that happens when you reach that point. You have room for others in your life. See, when you look to others for self affirmation you are short selling yourself. You have to have something to share. The only time we are not complete is before we are created. Once the egg and sperm meet we have all the parts we need to be a complete human being.
Once we understand this basic concept it's gets easier to understand that being on your own isn't a horrible concept. 'I am going to die old and alone!" It will probably happen just that way if you are so needy and cling to others just to keep from being alone. Don't we all know these people? Relationship revolving door? Anyone is better than no one people. These are people that are still not able to grok that they might just be their own best company if they give themselves a break from the constant chase.
There is a bias towards those who are alone. We are viewed as damaged in some way. What's WRONG with her that she isn't involved, married, whatever.
I choose to look as it as what is right with me. I have standards. I have confidence that I can fill a day and a night without depending on someone else. Even a few days and nights.I choose to spend time with a book, or movies, or friends or just letting my feet go where they want to go. Then when I am feeling it I can have company if I want to and guess what? I have stories to tell and experiences to share and it is interesting and the weirdest thing happens. People like to share in that. Point is, being alone and loving it, knowing how to do it right will make you better when it is time for sharing.
Now go revel in some alone time. Be your own best friend, soul mate, all of that.

Motivation 4.
When someone posts cliched or motivational pictures, my tendency is to want to be sarcastic.
Case in point.
Post: "There is a always a rainbow at the end of rain"
My first thought: "Not when it rains at night."
Second Thought: "and not when Batman is there."

It's Shark Week on the High Sea of Summer Movies
It's Shark Week on the High Sea of Summer Movies. It's double feature time too JAWS (released in 1975) & JAWS 2 (released in 1978) Jaws I do not have to say much here about this film or give a review on it. It is simply a masterpiece. Jaws is also the start of what is known as the summer blockbuster films. If you have not seen Jaws you are missing out and the question from me to you would be , what planet have you been on that you have never heard of Jaws? Jaws 2 released three years later had a great promo saying to it, "Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water..." That was brilliant too bad the movie does suffer. Don't get me wrong I love Jaws 2. There are truly brilliant scenes in the film like the water skier and when Brody finds the body of the woman who was blown up in the water skier's boat. I jumped a mile. The humor was there too. A lot of the supporting cast was back too in Jaws 2. Roy Scheider and Lorraine Gary who plays Scheider's wife in this one and the first movie is brilliant. Ok where this movie suffers is one thing and one thing only. The teenage characters in the film. I understand that they were trying for a younger teenage audience because so many of the "slasher" films of the late 70's involved 16 to 19 year old characters that I think the producers wanted to cash in on that as well in Jaws 2. It doesn't work. I, even as a kid when I saw it in the theaters, was highly irritated by them and the dialog. The characters were not written as well as the adults were in Jaws 2. I thought and always thought that whole story could have been left out. They could have done the ending the same way without the teenagers. Oh well what's done is done. All in all though I still enjoy watching Jaws 2. It's fun and exciting but could have never topped at all the first Jaws. By the way I have seen Jaws 3 and Jaws the Revenge and I will not comment on it but to say one thing, DON'T BOTHER. It's SHARK WEEK on The Discovery Channel and I will and have been glued to the set. Is it wrong of me to route for the shark during Shark Week??? LOL
