funny work quotes Pictures

Quote 1 :
Funny quote from Sharpay #flashback “Daddy, the reason I buy such expensive shoes is to take monumental steps.”

Quote 2 :
The first quote is the best, but the whole list is damn worth reading. Most of us write very sloppily. The few times I've really honed a piece of writing, I've loved the process and the result. Regarding #4, I loved a comment that Michael Lewis made in a recent interview with Terry Gross: "You never know what book you've written until you know what book people read," remarking on people who went to work on Wall Street after reading Liar's Poker.

Quote 3 :
Quotes from Android partners

“We welcome today’s news, which demonstrates Google’s deep commitment to defending Android, its partners, and the ecosystem.”
– J.K. Shin
President, Samsung, Mobile Communications Division

“I welcome Google‘s commitment to defending Android and its partners.”
– Bert Nordberg
President & CEO, Sony Ericsson

“We welcome the news of today‘s acquisition, which demonstrates that Google is deeply committed to defending Android, its partners, and the entire ecosystem.”
– Peter Chou
CEO, HTC Corp.

“We welcome Google‘s commitment to defending Android and its partners.”
– Jong-Seok Park, Ph.D
President & CEO, LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company

Quote 4 :
Great quote from GK Chesterton:

“The argument of the expert, that the man who is trained should be the man who is trusted, would be absolutely unanswerable if it were really true that the man who studied a thing and practiced it every day went on seeing more and more of its significance. But he does not. He goes on seeing less and less of its significance.”

This is so true in my experience. I've always felt that some of my success has been made possible by my ignorance. When I first came to publishing, I knew nothing about it, and so I reinvented many things that others took for granted. Ditto with my ability to notice big patterns in technology: they came from a certain distance. And there is example after example (politics comes to mind) where subject matter expertise is difficult to distinguish from deep ruts.

That being said, there are many other cases where experts are indeed those to be trusted. Non-experts can often see the big picture; but experts help us to get the details right. We need both fresh eyes and expertise.
